I’m Ruthie, a freelance creative based in Madison, WI who specializes in brand design and development with experience in print media and photography.

From a young age, my creative spirit could not be contained. At age 9, I was copying layouts and illustrations from my favorite magazines, sending my mom to Hobby Lobby with exhaustive lists of art supplies, creating digital book covers for my fictional stories, and utterly fascinated by the world of color. My path as an artist and designer is paved in pixels, paper, and Pantones, and I’m thankful to be blessed with my passion.

My creative philosophy is rooted in the Latin word “creare”, which means “to make” or “create”. I discovered the word in my college years and it stuck, evolving slowly into an intimate perspective towards life.

I firmly believe that to make is to live and to be alive is to make, the act of “making” channeling into endless forms. For me, that looks like design with a story. Everyone and everything has a story to tell and I want to do my part in sharing that with the world. When I’m not hunched over my laptop surrounded by coffee cups and note scraps, you can find me rock climbing, in a tree, practicing guitar, route-setting, hiking, exploring the world with my partner, nosing around a bookstore, or hunting down my next source of inspiration and caffeine.
