Marketing Case Study
2026
You Are Your Greatest Project is an independent marketing study starring a fictional gym (Upperhands Climbing Gym) and their objective to reach potential new members through powerful visuals and words in the form of an evocative poster campaign and a guided social media post delivering the product slide-by-slide.
PHOTOSHOP | LIGHTROOM | DSLR CAMERA | ILLUSTRATOR
DELIVERABLES:
• Three 12x18 posters
• A social media post
FEEL:
Empowering, gritty, determined, aggressive, zealous.
Determining how I would reach my audience was my biggest concern. I wanted to empower those grounded by injury and negative self-perception through emotional visuals and bold typography that would embody the universal human experience of trying your best, feeling inadequate, and making the personal decision to try in spite of your odds. The photography and post-editing were instrumental in this goal.
PROBLEM:
During the photoshoot, I wanted to capture struggle, pain, failure, wonderment, strength, & determination in the face of low odds. With the help of a photography friend, we effectively achieved that in 30 minutes of me repeatedly chalking my hands, climbing with consideration to my fellow climbers, & laughing at how silly we looked.
CONCLUSION:
Wrapping up this study, I reinforced my understanding on the characterization of emotion in design as well as deepened my love for the grit and grime of my sport. After sharing my work, several of my peers approached me about how powerful the message was, and I smiled with a sigh of relief. It came through. My goal was to isolate a specific experience, make my audience feel known, and strike a deeper chord that would make them see themselves through me. Larger than life, powerful, fighters, with bruises and bloody elbows to boast. Never backing down from the mountain.
